Just got in...how frustrating...the web connection is slower than dial-up and interrupted constantly...so there is again not much time...my apologies...
We are about to leave the Hotel Rambagh Palace - voted the best hotel in the world...and it certainly exceeds anything we have experienced before - you can check it out on-line...I haven't had time to figure out how to upload pics at this point - but have filled one 4 gb card - we are flying out this afternoon and will be at the Lake Palace tonight - we are expecting another one-in-a-lifetime experience...
We have seen many sights since we last posted...Delhi was crowded and had a different feel from Mumbai, Agra was interesting and the Taj was incredible. The pace had been tiring - we have seen a lot and spent a lot of time in the bus driving through the countryside. It certainly has been eye-opening to see how the people actually live. Traveling on the roads is an experience unlike any...buses share the road with camels, carts, cows, pigs, fruit carts, loads of everything imaginable, people walking, women carrying large items on their heads...horns honking and lots of dogging around other vehicles on the road...we have had many near misses - within inches - of other bues, trucks, carts...all in all - it has been enlighting and adventuresome....I have tried to capture some of this on flim, but am certain there is no way to adequately show it...
Many of us were so tired fro all the travel and lack of sleep - early mornings to late nights - that we opted out of several activities to just enjoy this marvel of a hotel...with all its grandeur...now it's time to move on...will try again if it's possible...I apologize for errors in typing as there is no spell check and this computer is very sensitive and time is so short...
